While it’s only a minor point, mentioning it alongside their biggest IP does indeed lead to some speculations as well. What’s curious is how in the entry its written that “Gearbox Entertainment has become widely known for successful game franchises including Brothers in Arms and Borderlands as well as acquired properties Duke Nukem(Thanks Randy) and Homeworld.” The Brothers in Arms series hasn’t been in the spotlight for the good part of a decade at this point aside from some entries on mobile. On Gearbox’s site, there is also an open job listing looking for a senior game designer to work on core combat mechanics as well as the movement feel. While talking about that (Time Stamp is 53:05) Pitchford also mentions that they’re currently working on a Brothers in Arms game, suggesting that the game is in early development, saying that, ” we’re working on another Brothers Arms game, but I’m not saying s*** until we have it.” During the podcast, Pitchford talks about how Borderlands 3 was only announced very late into its development cycle. During the latest Game Maker’s Notebook Podcast from the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences hosting Randy Pitchford, it was confirmed that Gearbox is currently working on a new Brothers in Arms game.
